Building the Next Generation of Alumni Givers

We’ve all been there—after four years of college (or more) with the average college tuition of $32,405 at private colleges, $9,410 for state residents at public colleges, and $23,893 for out-of-state residents attending public universities the last thing on a graduating senior’s mind is giving. But what if colleges and universities could change that through a unique, transformative giving program catered specifically to the needs and goals of colleges, universities, and most importantly, alumni?

For the average millennial, giving back to his or her alma mater isn’t just about giving in dollars—it’s about giving to a cause—a project. Because let’s face it, students don’t want to give more than a few dollars to a general school fund, they want to give to: scholarships, the new science building, the new state of the art concert hall, the new athletic building, the new café, or the new dorm. You name it, college students want to give, but in the right way. In the 2015 Millennial Impact Report, findings show that 27% of Millennial employees said they are more likely to donate to a cause if their supervisor does while 46% of employees are likely to donate if a coworker asks them to. Which is why we’ve created an easy to use, crowd-funding platform specifically designed to help students collaborate with their peers and their campus to build a meaningful class gift.

Gone are the days of snail mail giving. Millennials want real-time updates on how their gift (and their peers gift) is making a difference. We can give them that! In addition to having an easy to use, customizable crowd-funding platform, My Class Gift is the only crowd-funding platform that simultaneously works with universities and students to come up with the best pledge and give model for their school.

Here’s how it works.

  1. Launch your customized crowd-funding platform. We’ll build you a free site i.e. tailored specifically to your school’s needs and you do the rest—add photos, videos, project ideas, you name it, and then watch it grow. We’ll only charge a minimal transaction fee.

  1. Use our pledge and give model. We recognize that not all seniors will be in a position to start giving back to their campus right out of college, which is why we offer delayed-start giving. If a student is graduating in May and doesn’t feel able to give until, for example, September then they can still pledge an amount upon graduation, but delay the gift start date.

  1. Holler when you need us. My Class Gift offers three consulting packages to ensure that your school’s giving program is as successful as possible. We’ll train students to be ambassadors of a class gift project in addition to providing essential marketing tools, visit your campus, and above all, be there to encourage and advise.

Whether you’re a current student, alum, college or university administrator, you can initiate a class gift program that will transform campus giving at your school.

Let’s make a difference together.
